Following the ideology of the universAAL project, and with a purpose to
promote a widespread adoption of the universAAL approach and platform at an
international level, and in Finland particularly, the Finnish Reference
Platform for Home Environment initiative was recently announced in Finland.

The initiative aims to gather a large community of Finnish research,
business and end-user entities for a collaborative work in Finnish and EU
projects –  with those EU partners that are interested in partnership with
such Finnish entities in a given domain. 

Through the initiative, EU solutions can be made compliant with Finnish
state-of-the-art technologies, infrastructures, market and legislative
requirements. At the same time it is planned to demonstrate a practical
usefulness of the universAAL approach and attract local businesses for
operating AAL and other home solutions in Finland as well as for
international business cooperation.
