Hello all AAL supporters!

I thought you might be interested to know that a networking session on AAL is being organised at the ICT 2010 event in Brussels. It will take place on Tuesday 29th September from 1100 to 1230, under the title "Towards an open service platform and standards promoting integrated and interoperable AAL applications".

Some more details about the session are to be found here:
     http://ec.europa.eu/information_society/events/ict/2010/index_en.htm

The webpage provides some indication of the overall goals of the session, but I should emphasise that the format will be very flexible, and that "audience participation" is most certainly expected. So if you are at all interested in AAL (and you must be to be on the AALOA supporters list...), then I think you will find the session of interest, and surely have something to contribute too.

The session is being organised through the efforts of several related projects: BRAID, universAAL, Persona, WASP, OASIS, Osami and MonAMI.

It is part of the large "ICT 2010" event being organised by the European Commission - for details of the overall event, including details of how to register, see:

        http://ec.europa.eu/information_society/events/ict/2010/index_en.htm

This is a major event organised annually or bi-annually by the commission, with around 5000 people expected to attend. People who attend this event are very often interested in investigating the possibilities of co-operation in new project initiatives - either in the role of a possible coordinator of a new proposal, or simply to join initiatives being planned by others. Then networking sessions (such as ours), while not intended specifically as a forum to build consortia, have a natural role to play in this, as they bring together people with similar interests, who might use the opportunity to make new contacts and explore possible future co-operations.

Regards,

Joe
