Dear AALOA supporters,

My name is Richard Dapoigny. I am currently associate professor at the University of Savoie (France). My research area focusses on the application of a formalism (i.e., type theory) to ambient intelligence. More precisely, the formalism uses ontologies as a semantic layer to express knowledge with triples in order to draw inferences in a highly expressive way while preserving tractability. Applications mainly concern the design of an autonomous system for ambient assisted living for elderly.
I am interested in all AAL applications from the higher level perspective, i.e., knowledge representation and reasoning .

Patrick Barlatier is an associate researcher working with me on the above topics. After his PhD, he has developed the inference engine in LISP and the knowledge base with a triple store. Now, his objective remains to extend this engine with new capabilites.

Joseph Kabongo is a student from the CNAM (engineer school) also working on a graphical user interface in order to provide an ontology-based tool for a sufficiently large user community.

With best regards,
R.Dapoigny
