Yes, looking at the Linux Kernel 3.0 it is interesting to see MS as the fith in the ranking of contributors...mostly for virtualisation related interoperability,

Although for AAL, Claud Computing is in my opinion a second layer on top of "AAL Spaces", but what is important is the message, namely more openness ,,for more interoperability:
