Dear AALOA friends,

We now have about two weeks before the Passau event

    http://www.esl.fim.uni-passau.de/eurossc2010/program/program.html
    http://www.esl.fim.uni-passau.de/eurossc2010/monami.pdf

where the intention is to make available press releases announcing AALOA.

This will be a joint event where a similar press release will be
prepared for URC, and a joint statement will be made.
We need to prepare first the AALOA press release. I can see the
following actions:

    * A: coming up with a first draft in English (action Francesco?)
    * B: volonteers to translate the resulting press release into
different languages (e.g. German - action Fraunhofer?, French -
action Trialog, Italian - action CNR ...)
    * C: contacting the technology press
o Germany first as some German journalist could attend the
event. I guess Fraunhofer colleagues can help there and can
            take the lead
o Other countries. The event will be /videostreamed/ so other
            Journalist could attend the session
    * D: preparing the Passau workshop. The idea is to make this
      announcement in the 17.20 - 17.55 slot

I suggest a timetable where A is done this week, and B, C, D takes place
next week. I will contact each of you individually to ensure that the
action is well understood.

Cheers

Antonio Kung
Technical coordinator MonAMI

Nevertheless it is right to say that the purpose of AALOA is to compare the diverse solutions available, in this respect URC has to be taken into account and we can encourage its evaluation. However we may only advertise all the members of such initiative, any adoption or integration of URC standards in this moment is let to the autonomous decisions of single projects or individuals of AALOA. As member of universAAL project, I can only anticipate you that further meetings will follow in the next months between universAAL members and OpenURC community.
